An Alone First /// Look Up!

As I was getting ready for church today, I realized... I've never been to Church alone before!  So, today was a first for me.  Thankfully, even though our Church is itty bitty, we've been going there each Sunday since we arrived in Germany almost a year ago.  This means that I know some people there fairly well, so shy little me was okay :)  It was a bit strange, though.  And there is something about being at Church without Don that really makes me miss him.  Sharing a hymnal, holding hands during prayer & during the sermon, giggling a little about how bad the singing is :)  I missed him!  And I knew that I would, but I went anyway.  And I'm glad that I did!

First, it was good for me to get out of the house.  I'd been home since I got back from Post on Friday.  I have gotten a lot done this weekend, but I needed a bit of socializing {yes, just like my dogs!}.

Second, there was a potluck afterward!  Which meant no dinner alone for me!  No Lean Cuisine!  Nothing close to it, in fact!  I had ribs, green bean casserole, cheesecake, biscuits, fried chicken, mac & cheese, oh...and salad!

The sermon was "Running The Race of Faith", taken from Hebrews 12, & I really enjoyed it.  There was one thought that I wanted to share with you all.  This really has many meanings, all very insightful.  I really liked this a lot.  When I'm worried, the best thing that I can do is look up!

If you want to be distressed — look within.
If you want to be defeated — look back.
If you want to be distracted — look around.
If you want to be dismayed — look ahead.
If you want to be delivered — look up!

Happy Sunday, everyone ♥
